Which devices are supported?
Memor.ia runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later. An internet connection is required for AI extraction. Training, reviewing cards, and iCloud sync work offline.
Which languages can I learn?
Memor.ia supports 30+ languages including Hungarian, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Polish, Dutch, Czech, Romanian, Greek, Swedish, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, and more. The AI understands pages written entirely in the target language and generates explanations in your chosen language.
How does the AI extraction work?
When you scan a lesson page, Memor.ia sends the image to its backend server, which uses OpenAI to identify the chapter, extract vocabulary entries with translations, grammar rules, and key learnings. Results are returned as structured study cards in seconds.
Are my scans and data private?
Your vocabulary cards, scan pages, and statistics are stored locally on your iPhone and optionally in your private iCloud database. Page images are sent to the Memor.ia server for AI processing and are not stored permanently. No personal data is shared with third parties.
How do credits work?
New users receive a starting credit balance upon first launch. Credits are consumed when the AI processes a page (10 credits per page) or performs other AI operations. Additional credits can be purchased directly in the app via in-app purchase. Your remaining credits and capacity are always visible in the app.
What happens if a scan fails or gives poor results?
Scan quality depends on lighting, page flatness, and image sharpness. For bound books, use the full-page capture mode to avoid cropping issues. If the AI returns unexpected results, you can edit any card directly in the Vocabulary tab, or use the "Fix with AI" option to repair a single card at a low credit cost.
How does iCloud sync work?
Memor.ia stores your cards and latest scan pages in your private iCloud database. Sync is triggered automatically when you open the app and can also be started manually from the profile screen. Your data is only visible to you — no one else can access your iCloud database.
What is course sharing?
You can export your entire course as a ZIP file and share it via an 8-character invite code. Another Memor.ia user enters the code to download and import your vocabulary and grammar cards into their own book. Shared courses are available for 30 days and can be claimed by up to 5 recipients.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open the app, go to the profile screen, and tap "Sync purchases". This restores any in-app purchases linked to your Apple ID. If the problem persists, contact us at the address below.
How do I delete my account and data?
From the profile screen, tap "Reset local and iCloud data" to permanently remove all cards, scans, statistics, and iCloud records associated with your device. This action cannot be undone. Your Apple ID is managed separately through Apple's own settings.
